OUR CURRICULUM

No two curricula are the same.

We teach based on the introductory survey students fill out and what we observe about their learning styles and needs as we go.

Students video chat with coaches three hours per week, and can choose whether those hours will be in one, two, or three blocks. Every block will have a combination of learning and practice.

Lectures

From "Intro to Public Forum"and "Crossfire" all the way up to lectures like "Topic Approach: Working Backwards" and "Judge Adaptation," our methods have been tested and effectively implemented in classrooms and at debate camps all over the country, with students ages 13-18. Our coaches have lessons for all levels and we can design talks on specific topics based upon individual requests.

We are debaters; we know how to adapt to our audience and present information.

Drills

                                                 Practice makes perfect.

Working with instructors means your drills will always be challenging for your level. For one-on-one instruction, coaches are the ones asking crossfire/CX questions, and debating students. They'll adjust to what makes the most sense for the student's level. For partnerships who share a coach, debaters can both do drills with each other and with their coach.

We also set up a secure GroupMe through which debaters with different coaches can coordinate times to do practice rounds or drills with each other, which for only $15 more can be critiqued by a coach.

Homework, but your way

Depending on your schedule, you can choose the "homework" or "no homework" option. Since much of debate is about doing research, we want to give you the opportunity to do that in a guided setting. But we understand if the coming summer is too busy and are happy to incorporate research drills into in-class time instead.

It's up to you.
